Hooks are one of my favourite organising products because of their versatility. They come in all different shapes, sizes and colours to suit your needs. I often recommend hooks to the clients I declutter and organise for as they can be used in kitchens, bathrooms, playrooms, bedrooms and more!

I love using the hooks that are made by the brand Command. They come with strips to stick them to your wall/inside your cupboard for damage free hanging, no drilling required. They also come with an extra strip and are easily moveable if you put one in the wrong place.

Here are some of my favourite hooks and how I use them, click on the name of each product for the link. Read on for my top tips for using hooks around your house.

My top tips for using hooks around your house:

- Test fit where you are thinking of putting a hook and what you will hang on it. You don’t want to install your hook and then find out that your item is too long for the space (although you can move your hook if you make a mistake).

- Read the instructions on the back of the hooks packet carefully. It will tell you what you need to do to ensure the best adhesion of your hooks. Usually this involves cleaning the area with isopropyl rubbing alcohol first, if you don’t do this, dirt may prevent the hook from sticking properly. Please read each different packet carefully.

- Think about where you are putting the hook and if colour/style matter to you. You can get hooks that colour match to the fixings in your home, such as black and stainless steel.

- Double check the weight load of each hook before putting anything too heavy on them.

- Explore the possibilities of how you can use a hook and think outside the box. Can you hang tape from one in your garage? Could you use one to hold elastic bands inside a drawer, so they are easy to grab and don’t get lost? Could create a handbag wall in your bedroom or walk in wardrobe and make a feature of them using hooks?
